No formal accuracy check was done to verify the interpretation; however, field site data provided control on interpretation. Site locations were measured with handheld GPS units, whose error is estimated at better than +/- 10 m on the ground. The RMS error during georeferencing of the scanned image was less than +/- 35 m.Data were compiled initially through airphoto interpretation and were verified in selected locations during field mapping. No fewer than 300 field sites were visited during the course of mapping.Data comprise the linear surficial features were derived from field work and aerial photograph interpretation. Features were adjusted so they aligned with like features in adjacent study areas (edgematched). Where directionality was present, lines were digitized in the paleoflow direction. Line features intersect only where intended. The authoring geologist made visual checks of the attributes, and a third party checked plotted versions of the data.Data were compiled initially through airphoto interpretation and were verified in selected locations during field mapping.
