Data quality info:

Data quality: Scope: Scope: Hierarchy level: Scope code: dataset Report: Completeness commission: Result: unknown Report: Completeness omission: Evaluation method description: The information compiled in the spreadsheet was obtained from the results of previous work that had been conducted throughout the province of Alberta. Within the dataset there are two main worksheets, one for silicate xenocrysts (garnets, clinopyroxenes, olivines and phlogopites) and the other for oxide xenocrysts (spinels and ilmenites). In both of the worksheets generic geochemistry fields were captured as well as a few additional geochemistry fields in the cases of olivines, phlogopites, ilmenites and spinels. There are some fields within the two worksheets that were not captured and are marked by a blank cell. Result: unknown Report: Conceptual consistency: Measure description: The dataset was validated by transferring the data from the original dataset into an Access database. During this process it was determined that primary keys needed to be established and the 'non-printable' characters within some of the sample numbers needed to be removed. Primary keys were established by modifying sample numbers or the grain identifiers assigned to each sample. The 'non-printable' characters were replaced by a dash and were removed by using a function in excel. Result: unknown Lineage: Lineage: Statement: The information compiled in the spreadsheet was obtained from the results of previous work that had been conducted throughout the province of Alberta. Within the dataset there are two main worksheets, one for silicate xenocrysts (garnets, clinopyroxenes, olivines and phlogopites) and the other for oxide xenocrysts (spinels and ilmenites). There are some fields within the two worksheets that were not captured and are marked by a blank cell. Process step: Process step: Description: The Kimberlite Xenocryst dataset consists of a series of worksheets within an excel spreadsheet that contains data and information about microprobe data for silicate and oxide xenocrysts minerals from various ultrabasic to kimberlite rock occurrences in the Northern kimberlite province. The data within the spreadsheet was later normalized and then transferred into a database for the purpose of creating metadata. During this process there were certain aspects of the dataset that were modified to establish primary keys and to remove 'non-printable' characters from the sample numbers. The silicate grains were analyzed using an accelerating voltage of 15 kV, beam diameter of 1 to 10 micrometres (um), beam current of 15 nanoamperes (nA), and a maximum counting time for each element of 40 seconds. Oxide grains were analyzed using an accelerating voltage of 20 kV, beam diameter of 1 um, beam current of 20 nA, and a maximum counting time for each major cation of 40 seconds. Secondary standards were regularly analyzed to ensure the calibration remained valid throughout the probing session. Date and time: 2006-01-01T00:00:00
