Statement:
All features were captured from the original map.
Process step:
Process step:
Description:
1. Original mylars were scanned as tiff images
2. Tiff images were geo-referenced to 1:250000 digital base in 10TM NAD83 for creating geo-tiff. RMS
errors were +/- 50m.
3. Geo-tiff images were vectorized and smoothed using the 'Gridline' command in Arc/Info with
parameters 'Thin','Filter','Round','0.005 as Dangle' and '0.001 as Weed'. Line coverages were created.
4. Line work of ice-thrust ridges, flutes/drumlins and alluvial fan were extracted into a separate
coverage.
5. An Arc/Info AML program was written to convert line work into a point coverage. Process included
extracting the 'from' and 'to' node coordinates of each symbol for calculating direction (rotational
angle in 360 degrees) and mid-point coordinates to be used for plotting.
6. Feature descriptions were entered as attributes.
7. Point topology was built.
8. Final plot was generated at the scale of 1:500k to check against the original map.

Description:
Replaced the field ROTATION with IMBRIC_DIR, and populated it with ice imbrication azimuths for the
ice-thrust ridges. Previous values had refered to a rotation angle for a cartographic symbol.
