Abstract: This dataset contains information about locations and descriptions of outcrop observations and samples collected in southern Alberta. It also contains full analytical results for rock samples. Results of a small, boat-based radiometric survey conducted in 2007 are given in a separate table. The dataset is associated with Alberta Geological Survey Open File Report 2009-13, Uranium Potential of Southern Alberta: Petrographic Descriptions of Exposed Upper Cretaceous and Tertiary Rock Formations.

The sites were selected based on outcrops from formations relevant to the sandstone-hosted uranium potential in southern Alberta. Process step: Process step: Description: Location data were collected in the field using a hand-held GPS unit. Co-ordinates were collected in NAD 83, UTM Zone 11 and 12. Analysis data were received from the Saskatchewan Research Council laboratory. All samples were analysed using ICP analysis, (HNO3/HCl partial digestion and Hf/HNO3/HCLO4 total digestion). Uranium was also analyzed by the more sensitive fluorimetry method. Samples were prepared using an agate grind. Date and time: 2009-01-01T00:00:00
