Data Quality Information:
Attribute Value Accuracy Information:
Attribute Accuracy Report: As much of the hydrography point data is several years out of date, there is no reliable current attribute accuracy report available. However, at the time of capture of source, audit processes were enabled that assured the accuracy of attributes. As such, the feature types represented in the data are 100% consistent with the attribution defined by the Base Features Hydrography Data Specifications.
Logical Consistency Report: Base Features hydrography points are classified according to valid hydrography feature types, and each feature type contains attributes with valid value domains for feature type, feature code, and name.
Completeness Report: Feature typing and attribution is complete for all hydrography points in Alberta.
Positional Accuracy:
Horizontal Positional Accuracy:
Horizontal Positional Accuracy Report: Hydrography point features derived from 1:20000 Provincial Digital Base Mapping Program, 1:50000 Access Mapping Program (provincial), Alberta Vegetation Inventory Program and National Topographic Data Base 1:50000 mapping.
Quantitative Horizontal Positional Accuracy Assessment:
Horizontal Positional Accuracy Value: 5 metres
Horizontal Positional Accuracy Explanation: At time of capture in the 1:20000 mapping, 90% of all well defined features are positioned within 5 metres of true position. No features are displaced by more than 7 metres from true position.
Quantitative Horizontal Positional Accuracy Assessment:
Horizontal Positional Accuracy Value: 20 metres
Horizontal Positional Accuracy Explanation: At the time of capture, Alberta Access Mapping Program and Alberta Vegetation Inventory program have an implied horizontal accuracy of 20 metres
Quantitative Horizontal Positional Accuracy Assessment:
Horizontal Positional Accuracy Value: 100 metres
Horizontal Positional Accuracy Explanation: The National Topographic Data Base hydrography water body features have an implied horizontal accuracy of 100 metres

Process Step:
Process Description: Hydrography Conversion: This is the overall process to convert various sources of map based hydrography data into Provincial standard ArcInfo format coverages. These coverages are then further processed to ensure that the data is in a topologically correct state for GIS processes. The data are then loaded into SDE. This process is broken down into other steps.
